Education is a high priority for the membership of The American Society for Gravitational and Space Biology (ASGSB). The ASGSB actively promotes the membership of women and underrepresented minority students, as well as foreign national students. The Society offers reduced membership and meeting registration fees for students and K-12 teachers. During the Annual Meeting, undergraduate and graduate student poster competitions are held along with research poster sessions. Certificates, trophies, and monetary awards are presented to the best student posters in the undergraduate and graduate categories.
ASGSB supports a speaker's bureau and has a web site, which describes the purpose and activities of ASGSB. In addition, the web site contains "Science Fair Materials" where students can go to access ideas and information to develop science projects related to gravitational and space biology.
Members participate in mentoring and outreach activities within their community such as school visits and presentations, science fair judging, science fair project mentoring, and conducting teacher in-service training.
The society is currently participating in the development of a space biology web site. This will serve as a "living textbook" for space biology education, in a field where information may become obsolete in the time it would take for it to be printed in a standard textbook.

The American Society for Gravitational and Space Biology asks for your support for the Life and Microgravity Sciences research programs of NASA, as we strive to keep America leading the world in utilizing space for improving life.
